30 years of CMS

Tashi Delek and Namaste everyone!

On the occasion of the completion of the 30th years of our school, I would like to thank ‘Ama’ Marie Claire and Sir Kedar Binod Pandey. I used to be a very strong girl who could easily conquer high mountains and the hardships of my life are untold. During my childhood, I was a diligent shepherd. I spent my days helping my parents in the household chores. I was also very fond of listening to folk tales and short fables narrated by elderly people with whom I used to herd cattle on the mountainous pasturelands.
The world during that time was completely unique. I had no access to or ideas about today’s busy internet and smartphones. I wasn’t so literate, however, my curiosity in learning about nature and the environment was very high. I spent my day exploring high peaks so that I could catch and contemplate the tranquility of the view of high and gentle snowcapped mountains. I knew some of the best pastures in my regions as well. Listening to the deep echoes produced by high cliffs and climbing them was an extra ordinary experience that I ever had.
But now certain things have changed. Even though I continue to help my parents in all the household chores, I am also an educated individual. I carry the legacy of my ancestors but at the same time I am living and learning to be someone who would make an impact in the society. And that has been possible only because of the help of Action Dolpo and all the sponsors who are helping each one of us to stand on our own feet. I sincerely pay my respect towards their vision of uplifting every child. I am more than grateful towards them for believing and having faith on us. My journey wasn’t easy but I will try to strive for the greater heights.

Thank you.
