We launched our first crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe 2 months ago aiming to raise AUD 30,000 to research and design passive solar infrastructure, and build an ice-rink and an artificial glacier. So far, we have raised AUD 7,156 from 30 unique donors, enabling the purchase of 60 pairs of ice-skates, and design of the ice-rink and initial design of a passive solar multipurpose hall for Crystal Mountain School. The campaign will be suspended for the time being to allow us to focus on becoming a permanent partner on GlobalGiving, the largest crowdfunding platform for non-profits. The remaining funds raised on GoFundMe will be used to carry out the ice-rink and artificial glacier projects. We will focus on research, design and building of passive solar buildings through a new campaign on GlobalGiving.
GlobalGiving makes it easy to manage projects, connect to donors, and utilize the platform’s resources for organizational growth and effective fundraising platforms. We successfully joined the September 2021 on-boarding program on the GlobalGiving platform to become a permanent member.
After participating on a two week training program, we now have to raise at least $5,000 from 40 unique donors in 17 days through a campaign on the GlobalGiving platform to show our current level of community support for our projects and mission. The campaign starts on September 13, 2021 at 9 am EDT, and will run through until September 30. We are counting on your support to help us succeed!
Passive Solar Classrooms for Himalayan Children
This project will build two classrooms and provide learning resources for an Early Childhood Development (ECD) center serving 50 children of ages 4-6 years in the high altitude valley (4200 m) of Dho Tarap, Dolpo in western Nepal. The earthquake resistant classrooms will be built using passive solar technology to withstand the cold harsh winters, enabling the ECD center to operate for the full calendar year and tackle the challenge of 6 month gap in early education for young children.
The campaign starts on September 13, 2021 at 9 am EDT, and will run through until September 30.
